It's not often I have good ideas but this is a cracker. It thinks like this...

Imagine you are about to go on a weekend City travel break or a holiday to different cities. The first thing you want to do is get local tips on the best restaurants, the best sightseeing activities, the best shopping spots etc etc. You can buy a travel guide but what if you could be sure that it was the coolest place.

Mashable bring it again with all this stuff. You'll be browsing till dinner time but there are some great apps in there.

Recently read this article on mobile me and gmail. I have to say it is one of the best articles I have read about the negatives of Mobile Me. If you consider them negatives. As a long time gmail user I am reluctant to begin splitting my email experience. gmail offers all the sharing protocols you could possible need - forwarding, imap and Pop.

I have a fairly strong Google link. I use everything Google and love it. But how far is too far? I have only recently discovered Google Maps and have to say wow - what a great app add on. But I do worry where all this is leading us...or have I been reading to many Robert Ludlum books...

I am generally unaccustomed to blogging concepts and business philosophy but I have been thinking lately if I couldn't define the role of General Web Management and Internet Strategy in to four or five key areas:

1: Web analytics and reporting
2: Design - Look and Feel
3: Usability (inc. on-site optimisation)
4: Publishing - RSS/Aggregation/Channels/Feeds
5: Search Optimisation (SEO)

If there was a sixth it would be:

6: Marketing - offsite/onsite inc Search

But this is mainly concerned with build not promotion.
