The keys to using Macspeech Dictate
If you have a copy of MacSpeech Dictate and can't understand why everybody raves about because it doesn't work you, there is hope. After many attempts to get MacSpeech working correctly for me I hadn't given up. And as this is not a cheap piece of software I considered looking for the moneyback guarantee. I have tried installing four different profiles and two different vocal types. It seems to me the best way to get results with MacSpeech Dictate starts with the voice training. If I do the voice training word by word in the hope that it picks up clearly how I speak my words, the result is disastrous. However, if I speak at normal speed and tone during training, as I would normally (perhaps a little clearer), I find the accuracy improved greatly.
My intention is to return to the training and see if I can improve the accuracy further by reading through the other books. I have written this using MacSpeech Dictate but I must say I still need more practice, as I have made a raft of mistakes. It is only fair to say there are a great deal of words I just can't seem to get the software to understand. Fear and fair are a classic example of a word with the same phonetics but different spelling.
So the short is, do the training and normal pace and tone with a little added clarity. I do feel that I can fully master the software it will help me with my tendinitis.
