Olympus 2GB XD Memory Card - Type M

The new 2GB ultra-compact xD-picture card from Olympus has fast transfer rates and a large 2GB memory capacity. This card is suitable for panoramic function and has been developed to meet the modern digital requirements of photographers today.

Developed in 2005 type M uses MLC (multi level cell) architecture to gain larger capacities of memory. Due to type M using relevantly recent technology, there are some compatibility issues with older cameras especially when video recording. The type M card actually has slightly slower read an write speeds in comparison to the standard card with just a 2.5MB/s write speed and 4.0MB/s read speed.

Panararama function

This is a special function that allows you to stitch together a number of pictures to create a panoramic effect. The Olympus xD picture card makes it particularly easy to create this effect if its used with a compatible Olympus digital camera.

Power Consumption

The Olympus xD card consumes a very little amount of your devices battery power which means you will benefit from a longer battery life from a single charge.

NOTE : The following cameras are NOT compatible with type M cards; C-160, C-60Z, Mju 410, Stylus 410 Digital, and not fully compatible with C-770UZ. We advise you should check the compatibility of your camera model on our digital camera memory selector.

I am now ordering my second Olympus XD card from Memory Bits.....the first card has performed well, is almost full so I need a second card.....also the service I have had from Memory Bits is excellent and I would not shop elsewhere for my camera requisites....

Excellent value XD card. Olympus branded means you can use the Panarama function in cameras so-equipped. This is where you can take several pictures and later stitch them together into 1 panaramic view without messing around with match-up software. If you purchase a non-Olympus branded card and want to use this feature, you can use an external card reader/writer to alter settings on the card to make the camera think its an Olympus card after all. Then you could get the panarama function on a non-Olympus card (google it for details). But it's a lot easier just buying the Olympus card.

Good product and good value for money. You need an Olympus made card in order for Olympus cameras to go into pamoramic picture taking mode.

The cards were delivered expediently and I found them to work very well with my Olympus camera the panorama feature is great and the card does it all for you. I tried this function on the Fuji cards purchased at the same time and it refused to work. Taking repeated pictures can be a little slow on the higher definition settings however a great all round performer.

The memory card arrived within 24hrs and worked perfectly, super service from Memory Bits more than can be said for other internet sites, I ordered an Olympus camera from simply electronics the day before the order from memory bits and I am still waiting for delivery, ten days have now passed. My reccomendation, stick to Memory Bits for gadgets forget the rest, they offer no hassle purchases and keep you well informed of the progress.
