A good idea...City Travel Tips

It's not often I have good ideas but this is a cracker. It thinks like this...

Imagine you are about to go on a weekend City travel break or a holiday to different cities. The first thing you want to do is get local tips on the best restaurants, the best sightseeing activities, the best shopping spots etc etc. You can buy a travel guide but what if you could be sure that it was the coolest place.

Stupid decisions IMO

ITV.com using silverlight for video content playback. Why....

BBC iPlayer - flash player. Brilliant.

We don't need another format.

Done.

Web Design Gallery meets Web 2.0 Gallery. Very handy...

Sight ObserverThere are often two key areas to the R&D I do online. One is keeping up with design trends and the other is keeping up with Web 2.0 applications - and anyone else that is doing exciting things online in the vein of Saas (Software as a Service).

Why I never get any work done...

I thought this was are very funny explanation as to why checking my e-mail takes an hour.

York, a place of boundless beauty...

We have just returned from a long weekend in York. We have thoroughly enjoyed it, and the weather, while not being perfect, was still lovely. The drive north takes about four hours, but you can do it in less time if traffic is good. It was the first time that we actually went into Castle Howard, which is an absolutely wonderful building in the York countryside that was once burnt to an empty shell in parts but has now been restored to its full beauty, in most parts.

To far for Google or just a great app?

I have a fairly strong Google link. I use everything Google and love it. But how far is too far? I have only recently discovered Google Maps and have to say wow - what a great app add on. But I do worry where all this is leading us...or have I been reading to many Robert Ludlum books...

Go to http://maps.google.com, search for 'times square, ny' and then click on the street view link under the photo on the little marker.

If you dug all the way to China where would you start?

A great Google Maps application that shows you the opposite point of the world from any point.
